New Bern, the New Destination Wedding Venue

I’m a wedding event and floral designer in New Bern, North Carolina and I really believe New Bern makes a great destination wedding. Here’s a quick list of some of what New Bern has to offer:

  • Tyron Palace will now host weddings and receptions. We’ve raised tents on the south lawn, which is absolutely stunning. You have the beautiful Tryon Palace on one side and a view of Trent river on the other. Not to mention the beautifully manicured gardens that are all around the palace. A new history center was built a few years ago and it has two fabulous places for receptions. The great hall is beautiful, with cathedral height ceilings and sparkling white floors. The terrace has a great view of the river and can be tented up very nicely.
  • There are several outdoor gardens where you can choose to have your wedding. The Episcopal Church has a lovely outdoor chapel under a canopy of old live oak trees with benches already in place for your guests. First Baptist Church also has a beautiful outdoor spot. The Atmore Oliver house is another historical spot that you may like. Believe it or not, the New Bern farmers market can be staged to make a great reception.
  • I have a excellent list of vendors that can help make sure your event is beyond even your greatest expectations. I would be honored to have an opportunity to work with you.
  • There are several other locations outside of town that are great, but I’ll save those for a separate blog post.
